Our Story

CodeBreakers (originally Crate Escape) started in the cold Christchurch winter of 2016 with a 2nd hand shipping container, a few friends, some puzzle ideas, a generator, borrowed land and a lot of sweat.

Since our launch in 2016 we have designed, built and opened 6 escape rooms and 2 outdoor escape experiences…..with many more on the way. We have had thousands of ecstatic escapers through our regular and secret doors.

CodeBreakers is run by Logan McMillan, time travelling tech wizard Andrew Dean and a passionate team of ‘gamemasters’.
